Linda Lorraine Dingus

Linda Lorraine McNeer Dingus, age 79, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.

Born on January 25, 1947 in Drew, Mississippi, Linda was the beloved daughter of H. Curtis and Melba McNeer. She grew up as a child in Cleveland, Mississippi before moving to Clinton, Mississippi. She graduated from Clinton High School where she played basketball, ran track and was editor of the school newspaper. She then attended Hinds Junior College and later graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

She was a talented musician who played piano and organ by ear, often performing at church services earlier in her life. She was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in raising her children. She was fiercely protective and proud of her sons. Those who knew her will remember her for her quiet strength and great resilience.

She retired after a long career at the U.S. Postal Service where she worked in the office of Equal Employment Opportunity.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, T. Boyd Dingus, her sons Brad, Ryan and Austin, five grandchildren, her aunt, many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents H. Curtis and Melba McNeer, sister Sandra Jones and brother Curtis McNeer.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love, wisdom, and countless memories she leaves behind. Her legacy will live on through the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
