George Edward Hebert II, affectionately known as “Georgie” or “Little George,” passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age oA lifelong Fort Worth, Texas, resident, George was a loving, kind, gentle, and joyful man whose warm personality touched the lives of everyone around him. George was born on June 5, 1951, in Fort Worth to George Edward Hebert Sr. and Allene Leona Dees Hebert White. He attended Lake Worth High School and spent much of his life in the Fort Worth community he called home.
George worked at the family business, George’s Muffler Shop on James Avenue in Fort Worth, where he especially enjoyed visiting and talking with people. He had a natural ability to make those around him feel welcome and was happiest when he was surrounded by others.
George found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fixing things, playing bingo and games, spending time with his family, and enjoying a good home-cooked meal. He was known for his positive spirit and gentle nature. When something made him especially happy, he would often exclaim, “Oh boy!”—a little phrase that those who loved him will remember fondly.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward Hebert Sr. and Allene Leona Dees Hebert White, and his siblings, Cheryl Lynne Hebert Isbill, Jimmy Lee Hebert, and Lisa Leona White Nabors.
He is survived by his beloved niece, Danielle Brooke Isbill Ungerleider, her husband, Zach Ungerleider, and their children, Zachary Edward Ungerleider and Matthew Martin Ungerleider; his beloved cousin, Elroy Keith Hebert; as well as his other cousins and extended family, who will forever cherish his memory.
George will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, joyful personality, and the love he had for his family. He may have found happiness in the simplest moments, but the love and memories he leaves behind are anything but simple.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.
