Augusto “Tico” Madera Jr.

Augusto “Tico” Madera Jr., age 60, of Aledo, Texas, passed away on August 9, 2026.

Tico was born on October 27, 1965, in New Britain, Connecticut, to Augusto Madera and Caridad Suarez. Throughout his life, he was known for his devotion to family, his generous spirit, and his willingness to help others.

Tico dedicated more than two decades of his career to the industrial filtration industry. He took tremendous pride not only in his work but also in the many professional and personal relationships he developed throughout the years. He concluded his career with Micronics Filtration Group, where his experience, dedication, and strong work ethic were greatly valued.

Above all else, Tico’s greatest passion was his family. They always came first, and the time he spent with those he loved meant more to him than anything else. He lived by one of his favorite quotes:

“A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”

Those words reflected the way Tico lived his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a man who understood the importance of being present for the people he loved.

Tico shared 31 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Kathleen “Kate” Madera. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and treasured memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen “Kate” Madera; his children, Vivianna Madera, Antonio Madera, Matthew Madera, Michael Madera, and Joseph Madera and his wife, Ellen; his mother, Caridad Suarez; his sister, Mara Madera; as well as extended family members, friends, colleagues, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Tico was an avid sports fan and proudly supported the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Whether watching a game or simply spending time surrounded by family and friends, Tico appreciated the moments that brought the people he loved together.

He will also be remembered for his generous and giving heart. Tico was always the first to offer his help to someone in need and the last to leave. His willingness to lend a hand, his loyalty to others, and his devotion to family were defining qualities that will never be forgotten.

Tico was preceded in death by his father, Augusto Madera; his brother, Leonel “Leo” Echagarrua; and his father-in-law, Earl “Brian” Mahoney.

Tico’s passing leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on through his family, the friendships he treasured, the people he helped, and the countless memories created throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when family and friends will gather to honor Tico, share memories, and celebrate a life defined by family, friendship, generosity, and love.

Augusto “Tico” Madera Jr. will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
