Sandy June Ballinger, 86, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2026.

Sandy was born on June 11, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, to Jack Sanders and Wilma Horton. Raised in Mississippi, which always held a place in her heart. Throughout her life, Sandy was known for her sweet, kind, and gentle nature. Those who knew and loved her described her as someone who was simply “too good for this earth.” Her caring spirit and warm heart left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched.

Sandy had a wonderful sense of adventure and enjoyed experiencing the beauty and excitement life had to offer. She especially loved cruising the Caribbean, listening to music, and spending time in New Orleans, a city whose music, culture, and spirit held a special place in her heart. She was also a member of the Parrot Head Club, where she could share her love of Jimmy Buffett and lived by so many of his lyrics that were so meaningful to her.

Above all, Sandy treasured her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gary Ballinger. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Jenny and Amanda; her cherished grandchildren, Savanna and Giavanna; and her sisters, Sheila and Terri and brother-in-law Ben. Her family will forever remember the kindness, gentleness, and love she brought into their lives.

Sandy’s life was one marked by compassion, joy, and genuine love for the people around her. Her gentle presence brought comfort to others, and her kindness was a gift freely given. Though her family and friends will deeply miss her, the memories they shared with Sandy—from family moments to music, travels, and adventures—will remain close to their hearts.

Sandy will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely. Her beautiful spirit will continue to live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

May her memory bring comfort and may the love she shared continue to surround those she leaves behind.
