Delos Dale Fidler
August 8, 1938 – August 27, 2026 Aged 88 years
Delos Dale Fidler, age 88, of Argyle, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 27, 2026, following a battle with congestive heart failure.
Delos was born on August 8, 1938, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Delos Crimmel Fidler and Gladys Mae (Parker) Fidler. He attended Hammond Technical Vocational High School and continued his education at Purdue University.
Throughout his professional life, Delos worked as an electrical engineer, contributing his knowledge and expertise to numerous industrial, commercial, and public engineering projects. Among his notable work was the Cloquet water line project, a remarkable 30-mile waterline carrying water from Lake Superior to Cloquet, Minnesota. The project included moving water over hills reaching more than 600 feet in elevation using powerful 3,000-horsepower pumps. His career reflected his intelligence, dedication, and ability to help accomplish complex projects that served communities and industries.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Delos devoted much of his life to his Christian faith and to serving others. He served with the Jesus Video Project in both the Houston and Albuquerque areas and was involved with The Gideons while living in Michigan. His commitment to helping others also extended to volunteer leadership with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in the Houston area and Denton County, Texas, where he dedicated approximately ten years of service.
Delos will be remembered as a peacemaker—a man who valued faith, family, service, and compassion for others. His quiet dedication to helping people and his willingness to give his time and talents left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
Delos is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Esther M. Fidler; his daughter, Esther Kim Brewer, and her husband, Scott Wayne Brewer; his granddaughter, Lauren Brooke Brewer; his sister, Mary Boone; as well as extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delos Crimmel Fidler and Gladys Mae (Parker) Fidler; his son, Thomas Dale Fidler; his brother, James Fidler; and his sister, Deanne Haluska.
A Celebration of Life honoring Delos will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at The Well Community Church, 600 FM 407, Argyle, Texas 76226. Gavin Papit will officiate.
Delos leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, ingenuity, and devotion to his family. His life was one of meaningful work and service to others, and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Dale and his wife, Esther over the past four years. They are without a doubt, the most wonderful people I’ve ever known. Their Christian service is second to none. They have lived there life in the most godly manner I’ve ever known. Dale himself is undoubtedly the most honorable man I’ve ever known in my life.
