Richard Alfred Jennings Jr
February 23, 1950 – November 18, 2020 Aged 70 years
In Loving Memory of Rick “Daddy” Jennings.
Rick Jennings was a man who lived life with a generous heart, hardworking hands, and an unforgettable personality. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rick dedicated more than 20 years of service to the State Highway Department. During those years, he formed lifelong friendships with coworkers who eventually became like family. He was respected not only for his strong work ethic but also for his willingness to help others and the friendships he cherished throughout his life.
He had a passion for cars and truly enjoyed spending time with his friends. Rick also loved to cook and was always proud of the meals he prepared, never missing an opportunity to brag—just a little—about how good they were. His sense of humor, storytelling, and larger-than-life personality brought joy to countless family gatherings.
There was very little Rick couldn’t do. If something needed fixing, building, or figuring out, family and friends knew they could count on him. His strength, wisdom, and determination left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Rick leaves behind his beloved wife, Teddy Jennings; his loving children, Linda Hughes and her husband, James Hughes, Fay Jennings, and Richard Jennings and his wife, Dodie Jennings. He was a proud grandfather to Michael, Stephen, Matthew, Kylie, Chloe, and Zan, each of whom brought him tremendous pride and happiness.
Rick’s’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, his loyal friendships, and his ability to make those around him smile.
Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing that his love, laughter, and strength will continue to guide them for years to come. Miss You Daddy.
Remembered with love in Amarillo Texas.
